Executive Director, President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition
Shellie Pfohl was appointed by President Barack Obama in February, 2010 as executive director of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, which educates, engages and empowers all Americans to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
Shellie executes the Council’s strategic vision, directs its daily operations, and leads the organization’s efforts to support First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative to end childhood obesity within a generation.
Previously, Shellie served as executive director of Be Active North Carolina, founding director of Be Active America and executive director of the North Carolina Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health.
