Desma Deitz is Managing Director at UNICEF Ventures, where she develops and scales new products and platforms to accelerate social innovation and drive step change growth for UNICEF USA. She led the team that launched UNICEF Kid Power, the world’s first Wearable-for-Good® and one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2016, from prototype, to pilot, to multi-million dollar cause platform and award-winning retail product.
Desma first joined UNICEF USA to manage brand strategy and to lead the iconic Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. Desma has ten years of experience working in marketing and communications for both non-profit and for-profit organizations, including the Girl Scouts and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. A seasoned cause marketer with deep expertise building youth-focused cause campaigns, Desma enjoys collaborating across industries and developing integrated partnerships to generate ground-breaking ideas, and galvanizing teams to do their best work.
Desma holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Nonprofit Management from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Pennsylvania State University. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, toddler and pup.
