CEO & Founder, Headfirst Camps
Brendan Sullivan is the Founder and President of The Headfirst Companies, which he started in Washington, DC in 1996. Locally, Headfirst’s award-winning camps include day camps, STEM camps, multi-sport camps, single sport camps and specialty camps for children ages 3 ½ to 13 at locations in Bethesda, Oakton and Northwest DC. In addition, Headfirst runs the country’s top baseball and softball showcase camps for high school student-athletes hoping to play at the college level (Headfirst Honor Roll Camps), and is also the official and exclusive summer camp provider for five Major League Baseball franchises: the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.
Brendan played basketball and baseball at St. Albans School in DC, graduating in 1993 as a member of four consecutive league championship baseball teams, a two-time Washington Post First-Team All-Met [’92-’93] and the 1993 Gatorade Player of the Year for Washington, D.C. He attended and played baseball at Stanford University. During the summer of 1995, Brendan was selected Reliever of the Year in the Cape Cod League. Brendan was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 1996 and played for 5 years in the minor leagues, through Triple-A, retiring in 2001.
Brendan has been named a National Coach of the Year by the Positive Coaching Alliance and Headfirst was named Organization of the Year (2007) by the Washington DC Home Plate Club. His sits on the Boards of the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League and St. Albans, his alma mater. Brendan and his wife Tricia reside in Washington with their daughters, Livi and Stella.
