Ben has an 11-year track record producing games and apps that have a measurable impact on early language development. He is also a former adult ESL teacher. Previously, at PBS, Ben launched PBS KIDS PLAY! and PBS KIDS Mobile, both of which led to significant gains in receptive vocabulary among early learners. He has also served as a principal investigator for the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, the National Science Foundation and DARPA and as an Executive Producer for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Montreal game studio. His latest research is focused on language development and communication for elementary students with intellectual disabilities at the Johns Hopkins University Kennedy Krieger Institute.
