The Clubhouse: Technology + Imagination = Engagement
For over 20 years The Clubhouse has provided young people in under-served communities with a place to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves and their own potential. The Clubhouse learning approach builds on research on the role of affect and motivation in the learning process, the importance of social context, and the interplay between individual and community development. Many alumni describe the Clubhouse as a second home, and in a recent survey 97% said the Clubhouse had been the single most important factor in setting high goals and expectations for themselves. Gail Breslow will tell—and show—why the Clubhouse concept works.
